Initially starting off concentrating on trucks, experience and their own passion lead Garry and Brian into the field of British Sports Car restoration and repair, especially Austin Healy and MG marques.

Expanding the original operation, full garage facilities to deal with all types of automotive repair and MOT testing followed with a further specialisation in Mercedes and BMW models of all years that remains to this day.

In 1982 a local company dealing in wheelchair accessible vehicles approached Wilson Healy to design and build a vehicle with a better ramp system that was counterbalanced and therefore much lighter to operate. The vehicle was based on the VW T3 Caravelle and began a continued development of wheelchair accessible transport from Wilson Healy. Further models of VW Transporter, VW Caddy and VW Caravelle followed with over 500 in total being built and over 1000 Renault kangoo models. Production of the last remaining Caravelle orders finished in 2012.

After an intense development programme a completely new concept was developed, patented and put into production. This broke the mould of in front access allowing entry from the side and retaining all the rear seats and complete boot space. This being a first in the small compact WAV vehicles enabling the vehicle to be fitted with a tow bar to pursue recreational activities and so much more. Meanwhile new developments continue...

Our premises have been built and developed since our business started in 1969. Quite simply, as we have required more room and equipment, it has been installed along the way.

Today our business is completely different to the site that was taken on back in 1969, and continues to develop as we grow. Currently we have three different sections of our business that operate together but are individually responsible for their duties.

At present we have 5 ramps in full time operation in our engineering shop. Each of these ramps continuously holds a vehicle in production at various stages of the process. With 2 additional ramps available that are currently being used to finish a long term vehicle adaptation project we are able to increase production to meet increased customer orders as and when necessary.

For enquiries related to the InFront Doblo please see our contact page.

All fabrication and builds are carried out in house by our staff with an emphasis on quality, not speed. A vehicle is built and then undergoes an extensive road test and finally VOSA IVA inspection to ensure that all vehicles delivered to customers are fully ready for use and inspected to the highest standards. Working with Status at Manchester University research and development facility to research new ideas for the future.

We are also approved fitting agents for Jeff Gosling Hand Controls and as such are able to offer any of the products currently available from Goslings including a wide selection of driver controls for use both on standard production and wheelchair accessible vehicles.

With kits to fit most cars including those with multiplex systems, it is nearly always possible to find a solution for your vehicle whether it be a Ford Fiesta or a Ferrari.

For more information please contact us directly and we will be pleased to run through the options.
